greek chopped salad and bakalva

Over the weekend we had a wonderful Greek dinner with our dinner club! This month's hosts, Sarah and Brad, made the main course- butterflied leg of lamb which was then used in gyros, and tzatziki. So good and flavorful! Erin and Matt made spanakopita, which was also delicious. And our contribution to the dinner, Greek chopped salad and baklava for dessert!

Our chopped salad consisted of the usual suspects, tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives, and hearts of romaine. What really made it special was the amazing feta cheese we got from Lucky Penny (if you haven't tried Lucky Penny, check them out. the BEST goat cheese and feta)!

*we left out the peppers and onion, and added chopped hearts of romaine.

The baklava was surprisingly good! This was the first time I had ever attempted to make it on my own, and now that I know how easy it is, I'll definitely make it again! Sweet and syrupy and a great ending to a wonderful meal!
