We have a family friend named June who is a wonderful baker. She makes the most amazing pies and cookies, and these gingersnaps are no exception.
These cookies are the perfect combination of spice and sweet, and they have the crunchy texture I like in a gingersnap. A great addition to your holiday cookie jar!
1 1/2 C sugar
1 C Crisco
1 C molasses
4 C flour
4 t baking soda
2 t cinnamon
1 t ginger
1 t salt
Roll into balls (I used about a tablespoon for each cookie) and then roll in sugar. Bake at 375 degrees on greased cookie sheet for 10-12 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen (I halfed this recipe for 3 dozen, worked just fine)
