farmers' market brunch
I absolutely love this time of year. The farmers' market stands are full of vegetables, and so is our garden. It's breezy and the sun is shining...
A perfect Saturday morning for us: waking up early, going to the Countryside Farmers' Market, splitting a veggie breakfast burrito from Spice of Life Catering and drinking Crooked River coffees, then buying fresh vegetables, eggs, and herbs from our favorite farmers. Afterwards we head home to enjoy the bounty.
This particular Saturday morning we had Jerel's aunt over for brunch after shopping at the market.
The menu:
french toast with fresh peach sauce
eggs with peppers, squash, and herbs
tomatoes with basil
arugula, butter lettuce, and parsley with vinaigrette
blackberries with honey
mimosas with fresh squeezed OJ
I'm proud to say that almost every item for this brunch was purchased from a local farmer or grown in our own garden (with the exception of the bread for the french toast, and the mimosa ingredients)! I love it. It all tasted so fresh and wonderful.
The weather was perfect so we ate outside on the deck and enjoyed the morning. It was an easy, breezy, lazy Saturday morning. Perfect.
